Welsh Castle

A beautiful moment. The rain was two or so minutes away and the sun came out from a cloud and I was in the right place at the right time.

The photograph was shot in RAW using the Normal Priority settings on a Canon EOS 400d (Kiss X); F/11; 1/250 Sec; ISO 400; Pattern Metering Mode; 51mm Focal Length; -0.67 (-2/3 of a stop) Exposure Compensation; Sigma 18 - 200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS SLD Lens. This picture was put together with Adobe photoshop CS3.

Cat

Cat. Beautiful in more ways than I can say.

I do my usual thing and take as many shots as possible before people get bored with me and a camera in their face and  hope that I get something that I can use. Out of twenty or so pictures, I got two that I liked, this is my second favourite.

I still find interesting the concept of isolating people within a black background. A lot of my recent portrait work develops the theme. I love the 30mm f1.4 lens, it produces such gorgeous tones and colours.

The photograph was shot in RAW using the Normal Priority settings on a Canon EOS 400d (Kiss X); F/3.2; 1/60 Sec; ISO 200; Pattern Metering Mode; 30 mm Focal Length; -0.67 (-2/3 of a stop) Exposure Compensation; Canon Speedlight 430EX off camera Flash with a Home Made 'Ring Flash' Diffuser.; Sigma DC 30mm F1.4 HSM SLD Lens. Grace

Little G is growing fast. One look through some of my portrait shot will see he inside her mummy's tummy, new born, one year old and now at 19 months. She is very cute and very very demanding but oh boy what eyes!

K&H, Portrait, 2009

This was the last portrait of mum and dad together that I took. Dad was always working the camera as much as mum was always trying to work her way away from it and I feel that this shows in their eyes and smiles.

I recently found an old picture from 1948 of Dad at School. He was working the camera even aged eight.

I miss you Dad.
